TWIFO HEMANG SENIOR HIGH TECHNICAL SCHOOL

TWIFO HEMANG SENIOR HIGH TECHNICAL SCHOOL is a senior high school committed to providing quality education in Ghana. As part of the Ghanaian senior high school system, we focus on developing students academically, morally, and socially to prepare them for higher education and future careers.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL The school started in 1983/84 Academic Year as a Private Agricultural Secondary School, Hemang Agricultural Secondary School. It could not survive as an institution after three years of existence because it competed with the Hemang Continuation School, under the Ministry of Education, for classrooms at the present site. Officials of the District Education Office backed the Continuation School Administration for the classrooms at the current school site. With this struggle coupled with lack of incentives for teachers pushed the Hemang Agricultural Secondary School into oblivion in 1987. The idea of establishing a Community Secondary School for the second time was mooted by Mr. Castro Baidoo, Mr. Gregory Amoako – Atta and Nana Nuamah – Asante. The Omanhene, Otumfour Amoah Sasraku III, gave his blessing to the establishment of the school. The Traditional Council, recognizing the importance of Education as a tool for social and economic development of the individual, resolved at its meeting held on Friday 16th July, 2004 to establish a Day Community Secondary Technical School at Twifo Hemang. The re-establishment of the school in its initial stage met some resistance from some community members who had already established a private school using the buildings of the defunct agricultural school. It was a big problem getting the owners of Hemang International School, which later became Gospel Light International School and now Forever Young International School to re-locate to the Community Center. The Twifo Hemang Traditional Council finally succeeded in establishing Twifo Hemang Senior High Technical School on 11th January, 2005, with eight (8) students made up of six boys and two girls. The first Headmaster was Nana Asante-Nuamah. The school was absorbed by the Ghana Education Service into the Public System as a Government Assisted Senior High Technical School in September, 2013 with Ms. Rose Arthur appointed as the substantive Headmistress VISION STATEMENT The vision of Twifo Hemang Senior High Technical School is to “be a center of excellent in academic and Technical Training”. MISSION STATEMENT The mission of Twifo Hemang Senior High Technical School is to “Provide a holistic training in Senior High and Technical Education which will give a strong base for further Education”. CORE VALUES The HEMSTECH aim is to instil in students the following core values; Honesty,  Hard Work,  Tolerance, Perseverance,  Critical Thinking,  Team work SCHOOL MOTTO The Motto of Twifo Hemang Senior High Technical School is “Perseverance, Honesty and Hard work.” SCHOOL SLOGAN The slogan of the school is; “HEMSTECH! – The Sky is our starting point. GREAT HEMSTECH! No one is a failure”
